Slipping into the cozy atmosphere of the Dinette feels like you’re taken a trip back in time to an old parlour even on a summers day. The space is warm and inviting.

Best known for romantic dinners and Sunday suppers, the charming bar/lounge offer a respite for a quick snack or beverage on your climb up the hill as you head home from work. Sometimes I wish I lived in Pulp Lab‘s Ballard pop-up space full of light and art. The rotating offering of collectibles, jewelry and apparel is punctuated by limited-edition art for hanging and wearing.

Often the assortment includes emerging brands and specialty designers with deep roots in fashion and a flair for design. This month expect to find Asli Filinta, Kimberly Baker Jewelry, Jill Lindsey, bestgirlwins, Lina Rennell, Xpat Handbags along side vintage treasures located upstairs in the Pulp Loft.

Seattle scored big when Jennifer June moved her bespoke wallpaper (made by hand in small batches to ensure the utmost quality and exclusivity) salon, Hermitage, from Portland, OR.

Chef Johnathan Sundstrom and his partners have created a wonderful neighbor for Lark that delivers handcrafted cocktails and small plates: Licorous!

The house cocktail list features infused liquors with seasonal ingredients. The Shiso Fine uses organic Rain vodka infused with fresh local shiso leafs and lime, and is crisp and clean tasting. There is also the favorite Lark cocktail, a sparking drink made of Campari, grapefruit juice and prosecco. Enjoy $1 off cocktails (excludes Happy Hour specials) just for being a City Stimulus cardholder. After a cocktail (or two) try the tuna tartare, pretzel dots or a salumi plate.

Licorous serves cocktails and small plates until late in the night, Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 12am and Friday/Saturday from 5pm to 1am (no reservations).

It can be hard to find baubles that achieve the perfect mix of rock-n-roll, goth & sweet sophistication.
